a limitless poem called movie|mento

Dear passionate friends of traveling, photos, adventure and beautiful life,
movie|mento is still alive, it’s still a photo exhibition in the Haagse Hogeschool!
Our photos are almost going to lose their famous passion for traveling, officially committed to their duties: maintain the university vivid and colorful and make the students every day dreaming more about their future journey and adventures.
So, the photos are still in the building but the photographers are still traveling!
The lenses of our cameras has passed in this last months through Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, UK, US, Mexico and Kenya and they will soon explore Central and South America.

movie|mento, like a snowball effect, has generated a chain of consequences that we couldn’t expect at the time we were developing the idea of the exhibition.
The event in The Hague Hogeschool leaded us to organize a workshop during “DIS 2008″ in the World Forum in The Hague. Our workshop was called “A better world is possible: do you want to be part of it?”.
While we were exchanging with international students the power that our ideas can bring about, we really open our eyes and figured out what is our mission in life and how to pursue it.

We thus decided to find our own no-profit organisation, and we call it Locomotive, in order to maintain the concept of movement and to add the value of the motive which lays behind all our actions.

Our goal is to motivate the people to be creative protagonist of their life. To enjoy all the possibilities and opportunities we can find all around the world, we just have to open our eyes. Living the moment is constantly enriching our perceptions.
We want to break down physical and psychological boarders that limit us to experience our life to the fullest. Through cultural activities we inspire the people to behave in respect of our mutual differences and our mother Earth.
The answers of all our questions can be found believing in the light which shine inside each one of us.

On Thursday 12th of November movie|mento has been awarded by the jury of the “Laan Prijs” with the third price for the best student initiative of The Hague University . The whole movie|mento and locomotive team wants to thank the committment by Eveke de Louw and Valentijn Schulz for their outstanding support! Further we want to thank the Fund Laan van Meerdervoort and its jury for the “Laan prijs”, for their honor and attention.

In that occasion we realize a little overview in order to learn more about the opinions of the students and the teacher, one year after the inhauguration of movie|mento.

We will keep the spirit of movie|mento alive and the Locomotive team is the creation process of movie|mento². 2010 is time for more art, more creative actions and an exchange of visions, pictures and wisdom …
