Raphael Fellmer, Nicola Zolin & Lars Mensel
We are three young Europeans coming from Germany and Italy (Nicola Zolin – Padova, Raphael Fellmer – Berlin, Lars Mensel – Hamburg). We love photography, we love traveling, we simply believe at the power the pictures may have, at the emotions that they may give and, mostly, at the meaning that they may express in each one of us. We would like to transfer to all the people that would participate, the sensations that we felt in those moments, we wanna make everybody witness of our story. The idea came in fall 2007, each one of us was in that moment studyng in The Hague University. Why not setting an exhibition here?!
After several weeks of brainstorming, dreams, discussing and planning the idea started to take shape. In cooperation with the Acku cultural office we soon finished a general outline for the exhibition and the name “movie|mento” was born, a neologism born from the italian word movimento (movement) and the english word movie.
During the first eight months of 2008, two of us went on exchange and we all discovered new wonderful places, people and moments. We later gathered again and set the date on the 6th November 2008 for the most colorful and vivid exhibition The Hague has ever been seen.
movie|mento is about the beauty of our mother earth and all the different people and cultures, which make this life enjoyable. Our aim is to show the diversity which sorrounds us in motion and pictures. The exhibition is visually supported by “Flying around the World“ from Raphael Fellmer.
